Andrew Reed is a contemporary designer whose furniture and home accessories are distinguished by their fusion of function, appeal and a sense of the unexpected.
Since receiving his BFA in furniture design at North Michigan University, Andrew has been integrating innovative materials and technology in his design. At the Rhode Island School of Design, he continued his explorations in the MFA Furniture program, and upon graduation, was named one of America's "15 Most Wanted Designers," by Wallpaper* magazine.
Andrew has been co-owner and principal of the design firm Blanc & Reed, whose projects have been exhibited from New York to Milan, with TV appearances on the Martha Stewart Show (CBS) and I Want That! Tech Toys (HGTV). He has also served as a teacher and guest critic at the Rhode Island School of Design.
He is currently Creative Director of his own studio where he is developing a new line of work. He also acts as Industrial Designer at the Norwalk-based Dory Design firm providing new product lines for Ronson LTD, Maclaren Strollers, and Laser Performance.
